Don’t Give Up What You Want Most for What You Want Now

Here’s what you can do that will transform your day: pay attention to the calories in the foods you’re eating.

In Eat It to Beat It, we have one simple thing. It’s called the No Fly Zone.

All you have to do is make a pledge, which is really easy: in one single item that you eat – either in a restaurant or from the supermarket – you’re not going to get more than an entire day’s worth of calories (1800-2000, depending), saturated fat (20 grams) or fat (65 grams) or sodium (2400 grams).

That seems easy, right? Don’t get a full day’s worth of calories or fat or saturated fat or sodium in one sitting, in one meal.

That’s all you have to do.

Unfortunately, there are more than 1,000 foods out there that have this. So if you’re aware of that and you look for it, you’re going to learn a lot about reading labels, watching calories, saturated fat, sodium, and the rest of it.

That one small pledge will have a dramatic difference in your diet.
