Books that Inspire: Science vs. Spirituality in Deepak Chopra’s War of the Worldviews

Who looks outside, dreams; who looks within, awakens. – Carl Jung

The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through the striving after rational knowledge. – Albert Einstein

I am not a rational person. I am a dreamer and I tend to act on my instincts. I will make decisions based on my feelings and usually have trouble verbalizing the logic behind some of my actions. So, it should come as no surprise that I am not a fan of science. And, when a colleague suggested I read War of the Worldviews: Science vs. Spirituality, I balked, thinking I would be totally lost.

In their ‘war,’ Deepak Chopra, a leading figure in the field of emerging spirituality, and Leonard Mlodinow, a professor of theoretical physics, actually make both the spiritual and science arguments surprisingly easy to digest and, actually enjoy!

This book will inspire you to consider your worldview on how the universe began, where life comes from and whether or not Darwinism fully explains evolution. It might even make you appreciate others’ worldviews.
