Hurricane Isaac hit the Southeast this week with a fury, and last year at this time, another “I” hurricane — Irene — battered the East Coast. Some scientists say that intense storms like these may be an effect rising ocean temperatures, aka global warming. If that’s not disheartening enough, this past week the Arctic sea ice melted to an all time low, and scientists estimate that 70 to 95 percent of the Arctic melt since 1979 has been caused by humans.
While scientists try to determine what’s causing these shifts and politicians debate environmental legislation to help tackle the problems, there are lots of things us regular people can do to make our day-to-day lives more earth-friendly. Today, we’ve rounded up some of the best articles on the web about living a green lifestyle—from building an energy-efficient home to our favorite green living blog.
