4 Tips to Get You Back on Track with Your New Year’s Resolutions

We all enter the New Year with the best intentions. We promise to treat ourselves better, to eat healthier, be more active, and lose a few pounds.

If your goals sound similar, there are a few things you can commit to, in order to increase your chance of success:

Eat a nutritious breakfast. After fasting all night, it is important to get your digestive system and metabolism going refueling. A juice or smoothie is a great way to start your day off right.

Get moving.

Make one small decision each day to move more. Whether it is to park your car a bit further from your destination, or to take the stairs rather than the elevator, be sure to increase your activity level.

Drink more water.

Water is essential for keeping your body hydrated and healthy. It also helps move toxins through your body faster and keeps your skin more nourished. Strive to drink at least 8 glasses per day.

Eat more real food.

Take the time to shop and prepare food one afternoon each week. That way, you can have healthy snack and lunch options on hand, so you aren’t tempted to grab fast food or processed food. Buy plenty of fruit for snacks and greens to make salads. Even easier, blend up some greens and a banana for a delicious, nutritious filling smoothie.

Don’t get discouraged.

There will be days when you slip, because you were stressed or too busy or just felt like indulging. Get back on track the next day and don’t let one bad day turn into two or seven.

Most importantly, make a decision to have fun with your life. Experiment with healthy recipes to find those you really enjoy, and try different activities to discover the ones you look forward to!
